Couleur grenat d’intensité moyenne.
Des arômes expressifs et flatteurs annoncent un millésime bien mûr prêt à boire.
Son caractère charnu en bouche rappelle celui du fruit frais de la prune et du raisin.
Il est marqué par une réelle volonté de garder l’alcool en retrait et de créer une harmonie entre fraicheur, jeunesse, structure et gourmandise.
La structure reste discrète mais elle soutient la persistance et en fait un vrai vin.
Un joli compromis entre légèreté et matière qui s’avère à bonne maturité pour une consommation plaisir avec de très nombreuses associations.
Suggestion d’accord mets-vins
Il accompagnera à merveille tous vos moments de détente entre amis, autour d’un plat de raviolis au ris de veau et aux morilles ou tout simplement une viande grillée.
Données techniques
- Cépages : Merlot 45 %, syrah 35 %, grenache 15 %, carignan 5 %
- Vignes et terroir : issu des parcelles classées dans la zone des coteaux de Lagrasse. Alluvions anciennes de l’Orbieu.
- Vinification : Récolte à maturité. Macération fraîche de raisins égrappés. Pigeage quotidien au départ de la fermentation. Macération avec extraction très limitée ensuite.
- Élevage : en cuve ciment pour leur inertie thermique.
About the winery
The vineyard of the Borde-Rouge Priory is set in one of the most picturesque locations in the region.
Located in the commune of Lagrasse, itself recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in France, it is at the very heart of the Corbières region. From its’ position perched high on the hills of Mont Villebersan, the Borde-Rouge priory can be seen from afar when following the Corbières wine trail. The chateau and its tower are set off beautifully by the pleasing lines of carefully tended vines in 23 hectares of distinctive red soils. Little can surpass the panoramic views of white rocky outcrops contrasting against the red earth, punctuated by 200 year old pine trees sculpted by the wind, all contributing to an enchanting atmosphere that makes Borde-Rouge feel simply out of this world.
Father and son team Jean & Frederic Carrere, both of whom have long standing links with the area, became the latest in a long line of owners of a vineyard with centuries of history.
