Depuis 4 générations, les familles Voirin et Jumel forment une famille de vignerons. Gilles, trop tôt disparu et Françoise ont su transmettrent à leurs enfants Alice et Patrick, secondé par sa femme Valérie, leur savoir faire dans le vignoble et la cave.

Presentation of the winery
For 4 generations, the Voirin and Jumel families have created a family of wine growers. Gilles, who died very young, and Françoise have passed on their knowledge of growing vines and producing champagne to their children Alice and Patrick, and to Valerie, Patrick’s wife.
On the Voirin side, the first bottles were produced about 1945. At that time, the vine growers "fancied up the appearance " of each of the baskets by placing the most beautiful grapes on the top.
One of Uncle Jean’s baskets was refused. So, Jean decided to keep all his harvest to produce Champagne himself. He quickly bought a press, barrels, cellar and so on…
This anecdote could not happen nowadays. 90 % of the vineyard is held by the small vine growers. The Champagne Houses are always looking for grapes, and especially the highly classified grapes. On the Jumel side, the first bottles also appeared about 1945. The history is quite different. Mr. Jumel married to Miss Richomme, had some vines. At this time, champagne was not so famous, and the couple lived on their road transport business. Miss Richomme liked working in the vineyard and Mr. Jumel, slowly had to sell his trucks to buy vines.

Beschrijving van de wijnboerderij
De families Voirin en Jumel vormen reeds 4 generaties een familie van wijnbouwers. De veel te vroeg gestorven Gilles en zijn vrouw Françoise hebben hun kennis van wijnbouw weten over te dragen aan hun kinderen Alice en Patrick (geassisteerd door zijn vrouw Valérie).
Aan de zijde van de familie Voirin werden de eerste flessen reeds geproduceerd sinds 1945. In die tijd “pronkten” de wijnbouwers met hun manden: de mooiste druiven werden netjes naar boven geschikt ! Onze oom Jean werd zo één van zijn manden geweigerd en heeft toen besloten om heel de oogst voor zichzelf te houden en zelf zijn champagne te maken.
Deze anecdote zou zich nu niet meer kunnen voordoen. 90 % van de wijngaarden is in handen van kleine wijnboeren. De grote champagnehuizen zijn steeds op zoek naar druiven, zeker de geklasseerde soorten !
Aan de zijde van de familie Jumel verschenen de eerste flessen ook rond 1945. Hun verhaal is echter verschillend . De heer Jumel, gehuwd met juffrouw Richomme hadden reeds enkele wijngaarden in hun bezit. In die tijd was de champagne nog niet zo bekend en moest het echtpaar leven van transport van aarde. Mevrouw Richomme hield van het werk in de wijngaarden en de heer Jumel heeft zo stillaan zijn vrachtwagens verkocht om wijngaarden aan te kunnen kopen.

Da quattro generazioni, le famiglie Voirin e Jumel operano nel settore vitivinicolo. Gilles, scomparso prematuramente, e Françoise hanno saputo trasmettere ai figli Alice e Patrick – quest’ultimo coadiuvato da sua moglie Valérie, tutto il loro savoir faire ed esperienza in vigna ed in cantina.
Da parte Voirin, le prime bottiglie sono state prodotte attorno al 1945. A quei tempi, i vignaioli erano soliti “adornare” i cesti con i grappoli più belli, i quali venivano sistemati in bella mostra. Nostro zio Jean, dopo essersi visto rifiutare una delle sue ceste, ha deciso di conservarne comunque tutto il raccolto e produrre lo Champagne autonomamente.
Questo aneddoto non potrebbe tuttavia verificarsi ai nostri giorni. Il 90% dei vigneti è in mano ai piccoli produttori e le grandi case sono alla continua ricerca di uva, soprattutto per quanto concerne i cru “classificati”.
Da parte Jumel, le prime bottiglie sono anch’esse apparse nel 1945 circa. La storia è però ben diversa! Il signor Jumel - convolato a nozze con la signorina Richomme, possedeva qualche vigne to. All’epoca, lo champagne non godeva di tanta popolarità; la coppia viveva dei proventi derivanti dal settore dei trasporti. Tuttavia, la signora Richomme amava lavorare viti e terra: suo marito dovette a poco a poco vendere tutti i camion per comprare altre vigne!
