About the winery

Ceralti, is deeply rooted in the territory of Castagneto Carducci, a medioeval Tuscan village situated near Bolgheri and 1 km far from the seaside, in the vicinity of the most beautiful beach of Marina di Castagneto Carducci.

The owners, the Rutili family, moved from Montecavallo (Macerata) to Castagneto at the end of the 19th century. The great grand-father of the present owners was a prominent figure in the life of the Municipality of Castagneto Carducci.

He was a friend of the Italian poet Giosuè Carducci, the Head of the Municipal Orchestra, he became mayor of Castagneto and he was also an expert of trotting horses. This famous agronomist managed to pass on this passion to future generations.

The property spreads out both on the hills and in the plain. Tradition and passion led wine production to be the main activity of Ceralti. The company is presently hand picking about 9 ha of grapes, of which 1 ha is part of an experimental project. The vineyards prevail on the hilly part of the farm, between Castagneto and Bolgheri, the homeland of many world famous DOC wines.

Presentazione della cantina

L’azienda agricola Ceralti, affonda le sue radici nel territorio di Castagneto Carducci, paese medievale Toscano. Poco distante da Bolgheri ed a 1 km dal mare, in prossimità della più bella spiaggia di marina di Castagneto Carducci.

Di proprietà della famiglia Rutili originaria di Montecavallo (Macerata) da cui si trasferì a fine 800. Il bisnonno degli attuali proprietari fu una figura di notevole importanza nella vita del comune di Castagneto Carducci.

Amico del poeta Giosuè Carducci, presidente della Filarmonica Comunale, sindaco del comune, grande estimatore e amante di cavalli da trotto. Noto agronomo ,è riuscito a trasmettere quest’ultima passione alle generazioni successive. La proprietà si estende sia in collina che in pianura.

Al primo posto per tradizione e passione c’è la viticoltura. Attualmente vengono raccolti a mano circa 9ha di vigneto di cui 1ha sperimentale, per la maggior parte adagiati sulle colline tra Castagneto e Bolgheri patria di grandi vini, da cui si producono vini DOC famosi in tutto il mondo.
