Château des Moriers - Vieilles Vignes 2008

Depuis 2006, au château des Moriers, cette cuvée est vieillie en pièce de 400L de beau chêne français parmi lesquels quelques-uns de la légendaire forêt de Tronçet. Cela permet au vin de renforcer sa structure masculine innée, plus tannique que dans d’autres coins du Beaujolais. Balance parfaite avec son voisin le Fleurie, sa force de caractère le rapproche parfois de certains Bourgogne et en fait un bon vin de repas que vous pourrez faire vieillir en cave. Toutefois il est aussi fruité et léger en bouche. Vous l’apprécierez sur des viandes grillées ou en sauce et il accompagnera parfaitement le barbecue cet été.

About the winery

The Château des Moriers is a family owned vineyard since 1850. Today,  3 siblings from the Monrozier’s family representing 5 generations of wine growers are working together the daily operations and management of Chateau des Moriers.  Gilles Monrozier, middle brother, have been working in the field as well for a few years now. He perpetuates the tradition of wine making in the family but he is also an innovator and revolutionize the wine making and aging process. 

The château features two of the best crus of Beaujolais : Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent. In the region we call them the queen and the king of Beaujolais. The Fleurie has very feminine particularities : delicacy, fruit and flower. It’s easy drinking wine,  but also very elegant. At the domaine we make it complex and more structured than the average.
