	Eindelijk nog eens een verrassende Zuid Afrikaan. Ook de Zuid Afrikaanse wijn leidt onder "vervlakking" -allemaal naar dezelfde smaak zodat zoveel mogelijk mensen hem lusten. Neen deze wijn heeft zijn eigen karakter. Hij verrast door zijn soepelheid, elegantie, en toch een karaktervolle evolutie van eerste smaak tot afdronk. Niet alle ecologische wijnen zijn even lekker, laat staan echt drinkbaar. Even de informatie op het etiket: An organic red wine from Simonsberg near Stellenbosch made from organically grown grapes, certified bij SGS. We have named this wine the Ladybird, because ladybirds are the natural enemies of the meylybugs, one of the biggest pests threathing the vines. Handpicked grapesin the early morning, crushed, destemmed and pumped in open fermentation tanks. Fermentation lasted 10 to 12 days with regular manual punchdowns and pumpovers. Fermentation was follewed by extended maceration before pressing. The wine was blended after fermentation. The blend (Merlot 52%, Cabernet Sauvignon 27% and Cabernet Franc 21%) was aged 13 months in small, tight-grain French oak barrels. 14,5% En dan het wijnhuis: De talentueuze wijnmaker Stefan Dorst, ook actief op het Spaanse topdomein Venta d'Aubert (Dionus), bewijst op Laibach andermaal zijn vakmanschap. De Laibach winery is sinds 1995 eigendom van de Duitse Laibach-familie. Tot 1994 werden de druiven van deze 39 ha grote en oude wijngaarden verkocht aan Nederburg in Paarl. Nu behoort het Laibachassortiment tot de grootste en de fijnste van de Kaap. In deze korte tijd plaatste Laibach zich in de top 10 van South Afrika.
