Nowadays, the business lies in the hands of the third generation with Jorge Campolargo responsible for the vineyards and Carlos Campolargo heading the cellar and sales.
Joana Campolargo impersonates the collaboration of the fourth generation ensuring administrative support and external relations.
Therefore, we wish to maintain our wine production an exclusively family-run business.
Made with the Tinto Cão grape variety (literal translation is Red Dog), hence the fancy name of the wine (cachorro is puppy in Portuguese).
I'm a bit disappointed by the evolution of this wine. It already shows some signs of evolution in the color and the very nice red fruit (yummy raspberry) it had 2 years ago disappeared. Now the nose is very inexpressive. The body still shows good structure, great acidity and firm tanins, so I really don't know where this wine is going. Maybe I opened it while the wine was in a sleepy period and I should have applied a shock treatment to wake him up....
