This bottle was shelved 21 years for our son's twenty-first birthday celebration.
This wonderful bottle was shelved for 21 years. It was moved 215 miles to a new home and evacuated twice (200 miles by car) for hurricane storms. Wrapped in a dish towel and kept in an antique kitchen cabinet the temperature remained a constant 78 degrees in the summer and 68 in the winter, not bad for south Texas.
We served the wine with broiled New York strip steaks, Cesar Salad and French Bread with butter. Simple yet elegant.
We were blown away by the smooth, rich and phenomenal taste of the wine as we had expected nothing more than a bottle of vinegar. The twenty-one year wait was worth all the trouble. Now I wish I had put up more than one bottle all those years ago.
