The Poderi San Rocco wine estate is located in the commune of Alba, one of the best-known areas in Piedmont for wine-growing, and famous for Nebbiolo and Barolo. This family owned estate started in 1929. Today they have 170 acres of vineyards and a well-equipped modern winery. Everything is carried out directly on site: farming the land and tending the vineyards; vinifying the grapes and bottling the wines. This Nebbiolo Langhe is 100% Nebbiolo from the Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards. Replanting was done in the nineties and early 2000’s and the grapes from these replanted younger vines are selected for this wine. It shows true Nebbiolo character and style with berry, floral and mineral notes with supple ripe tannins and a lingering spicy finish. The outstanding 2006 vintage was very helpful in allowing the grapes to ripen and mature fully.
