About the winery
Aurelio’s parents settled in the Annunziata hamlet in 1943, in an old farmhouse built at the end of the 19th century. At the end of the 1950s, Aurelio’s father began bottling some of the wine under the SETTIMO DOMENICO label. Aurelio had understood how special this land really was however, and when Domenico died in 1962 he decided to specialize in wine-growing.The vineyards were extended, and the AURELIO SETTIMO label was introduced. Though fraught with difficulties, this was the beginning of a new challenge, and a new home and winery were built amidst the family vineyards. The Settimo family has continued to maintain a traditional product line, in particular as regards Barolo. Since the death of Aurelio (March 2007), production and sales have been handled by his daughter Tiziana, who had long been assisting him in the running of the business. The philosophy remains the same, however: to focus on QUALITY, in keeping with TRADITION.
Presentazione della cantina
Nel 1943 i genitori di Aurelio si stabilirono all’Annunziata in una vecchia fattoria, costruita alla fine del 19° secolo.Alla fine degli anni ’50 il padre di Aurelio iniziò ad imbottigliare parte del vino, con l’etichetta SETTIMO DOMENICO. Ma nel 1962 (anno della morte di Domenico), suo figlio Aurelio capì che quel terreno era veramente speciale: decise quindi di aumentare l’estensione dei vigneti e di specializzarsi nel settore vitivinicolo. Costruì una nuova abitazione e cantina. La famiglia Settimo ha deciso di mantenere la linea di prodotti tradizionali, in particolare per il Barolo: dopo la morte di Aurelio (lo scorso Marzo 2007), ora è la figlia Tiziana, già da anni coadiuvante del padre in azienda, che si occupa della produzione e della commercializzazione dei vini. E’ sempre mantenuta la stessa filosofia: dare particolare attenzione alla QUALITA’ nel rispetto della TRADIZIONE.
