Dès 1989, Jean-Marc Landureau s’installe à la propriété et met toute son énergie à la rénovation du vignoble. Plus question de porter son vin à la coopérative ; 1990 signe son premier millésime.
Parallèlement aux fondamentaux de son héritage viticole,
il est obsédé par l’ouverture et l’évolution nécessaire.
Cette quête permanente d’adaptation et de justesse est récompensée dès 1999, date à laquelle le Château d’Escurac remporte devant les plus illustres, la 15ème Coupe des Crus Bourgeois.

Presentation of the winery
Over the years, the personalities of the different owners of Château d’Escurac have shaped this fine estate that perches on one of the highest hills of the Medoc. Its very pretty 11th century chapel is a reminder of a previous rural, feudal and ecclesiastical life that has left its indelible imprint here. The Landureau family fell in love with the property and bought it in 1934.
Jean, the grandfather, who loved horses, transformed the property into a stud and indulged his passion. His son, Jean-Michel, diversified the estate’s activities, developed vines and carried his grapes to the cooperative.
