Presentation of the winery
In 1978 Pere SANGENÍS and Conxita VAQUÉ started to plant vines in the lands of Pere in Porrera, D.O.PRIORAT. We know that this lands has been in the maternal side of his family –MONLLEÓ- since before 1700, and on which vines were primarily cultivated. At the beginning of the 20th century bottling was attempted in some houses of the PRIORAT, however this project collapset as they were times of social and economic conflict.
In 1979 Pere and Conxita began to produce in the bodega in Plaza Catalunya, the old cellar of Josep Simó, Conxita’s grandfather, who was a winemaker as well as wine merchant from 1886 until his death. Is in this cellar that Pere SANGENÍS has produced our wines during these years combining tradition with the new ways.

En 1978 Pere SANGENÍS y Conxita VAQUÉ empezaron a plantar las viñas en las fincas de Pere en el término de Porrera, en la D.O. PRIORAT. Sabemos que estas fincas habían pertenecido a su familia materna –MONLLEÓ- desde antes del 1700 y que principalmente se cultivaba viña en ellas. De hecho, a principios del siglo XX algunas familias del Priorato intentaron embotellar vino, pero no fue posible debido a que eran tiempos difíciles social y economicamente.
En 1979 Pere y Conxita empezaron a elaborar en la bodega de la Plaza Catalunya, la antigua bodega de Josep Simó, el abuelo de Conxita, el cual fue elaborador y comerciante de vino desde 1886 hasta su muerte. En esta bodega Pere ha elaborado nuestros vinos durante estos años combinando la tradición con las nuevas tendencias.
