Wine.com : « White Wine by Cadaretta from Columbia Valley, Washington. The Cadaretta SBS is a wine designed to be enjoyed in its youth: it's crisp, fruity and full of minerality. It has a vibrant luster to its straw-yellow color and is perfectly clear. The aromatics are intense, with pear and white flowers, and a back drop of honeysuckle and key-lime. On the palate the most striking aspect of this wine is the rush of juicy acidity that lights up your mouth with lemon-zest and stonefruit. The finish is a long, lingering sensation of purity and cleanliness. »

Château Ste Michelle - Cabernet Sauvignon - Indian Wells 2009
Columbia Valley (Washington, United States)

Wine.com : « Red Wine by Chateau Ste. Michelle from Columbia Valley, Washington. The 2009 growing season was in a word - perfect. The weather was dry, warm with lots of sunshine. We started the season a week late in blooming, but caught up as the perfect ripening weather lasted through September. The tale of two vintages has to do with the freeze that many vineyards experienced on the night of October 10th. The good news about this event is that most of our grapes were either already picked or had already reached a good level of maturity. It was at that point where we had to get in the rest of the fruit in short order, which we did. The Indian Wells Cabernet is our warm climate, ripe, jammy New World style of Cabernet Sauvignon. Vineyards in the area are more than a decade old now and showing character and complexity. This lush wine reveals fruit-forward blackberry and cherry flavors and dark fruit aromas. Pair with stuffed peppers, blue cheese, duck, beef, veal, lamb, dark chocolate. »

Owen Roe Sinister Hand 2009

Wine.com : « Red Wine by Owen Roe from Columbia Valley, Washington. The Sinister Hand bears... » See more...
Wine.com : « Red Wine by Owen Roe from Columbia Valley, Washington. The Sinister Hand bears the family crest depiction of a severed left hand, which tells the story of a rowing competition among the O'Neills & the O'Reillys (Owen Roe was an O'Neill). Whom ever touched land first after rowing across the lake was rewarded with the land he touched. Lagging behind, one of the O'Neill kinsfolk grabbed his sword to cleave his hand and pitched it ashore to touch the land first. He won the land and eventually ruled over it as king. From this touching (sic) story comes a cult favorite wine: definitely worth the sacrifice! 70% Grenache, 26% Syrah, 2% Mourvedre, 2% Counoise. The 2009 Sinister Hand bears a clear, bright garnet color and boasts notes of wild strawberries, tayberries, black pepper and red and black currants. A precise acid structure lends the framework for the ripe black fruit and baked brown earth finish.Grenache provides festive red fruit flavors while the Syrah and Mourvedre add savory notes of stewed dark fruits, sweet herbs and a complex earthiness. Pair this wine with roasted fowl, pork and lighter beef dishes as well as washed-rind cheeses. Drink now through 2015. »
