Millésima-usa.com : « Remelluri stands out among Rioja wines for many reasons, first because it is the product of a single estate and not a selection of grapes or wine from many locations and growers. Great care is taken to insure ideal ripeness of the grapes including that of the pips, which can impart bitterness if they are 'green'. Rather than 'pumping over' the juice as it ferments, at Remelluri the cap of floating skins is 'punched down' with wooden paddles, with the aim of gentle extraction, in large conical wooden vats. Aging is in French, not American, oak barrels - again unusual for Rioja. A silky, fleshy Rioja redolent of ripe red fruits and toasty oak with notes of mineral and spice. 93 points, International Wine Cellar. »
