Rosé wines : Colli di Conegliano DOC

Established in 1993, the Colli di Conegliano D.O.C. belongs to the great, ancient tradition of winemaking in the hills of Treviso. This appellation valorizes a great tradition of winegrowing while protecting a number of local productions such as Refrontolo Passito and Torchiato di Fregona.

The first one is produced in a very restricted area in the territories of the municipalities of Refrontolo, Pieve di Soligo and San Pietro di Feletto, using Marzemino. The grapes are harvested when ripe and are left to dry before they are vinified in small barrels. This wine has an intense ruby red color and a delicate, fruity aroma. It is vinous, sweet and lively, and is ideal either served with desert.

Torchiato di Fregona, on the other hand, can only be produced in the territories of the municipalities of Fregona, Sarmede and Cappella Maggiore and is a white passito obtained from Prosecco, Verdiso and Boschera grapes, sometimes mixed with non-aromatic white grapes. In this case too, the grapes are harvested when ripe and left to dry until they develop high sugar content. It is aged in wood barrels until the month of August and in glass bottles until December, when it is sent to the market. Of a deep yellow color, this wine is dense, characteristic, sometimes aromatic and can be sweet or dry, which makes it ideal as dessert wine.
