Vinexus - Infinity of Wine Duitsland : « Elegant, fruity core, sustained by smooth tannins, a fragrant acidity and a surprisingly long, charming aftertaste of cherries and coffee. Colour: Deep ruby red. Aroma: The bouquet reveals inviting floral notes, followed by fruity scents of ripe plum and small red and black berry fruit. Spicy sensations with hints of leather and nutmeg give depht and elegance to the bouquet. The quality of Prugnolo Gentile, the local name which the producers of Montepulciano have given to the Sangiovese here, is an irrifutable fact, sustained by centuries of wine-making history. It is also a modern phenomenon, though, which has only recently gained its position as a preferred wine among the wine lovers of the world. The stunning Montepulciano area is visited each year by thousands of people, who are attracted not only by its cultural treasures and beautiful landscapes, but also by its excellent wines which seem to tell the tale of this territory, distinguished by noble families and proud traditions. Lodola Nuova Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of Ruffino's most popular wines, because it merges century old traditions with the energy of modern life - an antique, yet fashionable wine. It is medium bodied and features a surprisingly smooth, easy-to-drink style, where the typical fruity notes of Prugnolo Gentile - morello, cherries, chassis - form a very pleasant, sweet bouquet. The sweetness of the fruit is the main characteristic of this variety cultivated on Montepulciano soil, where the climate is very hot and the soil is arid - the perfect conditions for reaching an ideal maturation of the grapes. Wine.com : « Red Wine by Avignonesi from Tuscany, Italy. Varietals: Prugnolo Gentile, Canaiolo Nero, Mammolino Vino Nobile is garnet red in color: its bouquet is delicate and intense, with a slight scent of violet: the taste is dry with a hint of tannin. This wine is ideal with roast and grilled meat, game and mature cheeses. The 2004 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (mostly Prugnolo Gentile with some Canaiolo and Mammolino) presents a richer, riper expression of black cherries, licorice and smoke, in a linear, understated style, with notable purity and outstanding balance. Although delicious today, it is also quite fresh and primary. Readers who enjoy a more developed wine will want to give this Vino Nobile another year or two of bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2016. -Wine Advocate »
