Wine.com : « Red Wine by Castello Romitorio from Tuscany, Italy. The Tuscan climate regularly bestows on us the gift of excellent wine, but every so often fortune shows an extra measure of generosity. Only a careful selection of grapes from a truly exceptional harvest can produce a Riserva, and 2004 was just such a year. This wine presents itself in superlatives, with a tremendously deep and intense color. Its aroma reveals itself with beautifully ripe blueberry, and Fresh and dried roses-a bouquet that is subtle yet seductive. The wine opens on the palate with pleasant notes of cloves, Rose petals, and spices. Full-bodied, with fine and mature tannins and a long finish. »

Wine.com : « Red Wine by Il Poggione from Tuscany, Italy. Produced only in the best years and in limited quantities, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2004 Vigna Paganelli is made exclusively with Sangiovese grapes sourced from the eponymous vineyard, planted in 1964. An austere, classic and aristocratic Brunello, it is a wine that honors the blazon and the image of the wine symbol of Montalcino. The wine shows a dense ruby red color with garnet hues. Aromatically, there are rich warm tones of red fruit, spices, liquoirice, while on the palate this thoroughbred of a wine, displays a flavorful weave of silky tannins that are greeted with the freshness and structure that is typical of a great vintage. With a very long and overwhelming finish, it is a wine that will further evolve in the years to come. »

Millésima-usa.com : « The Mocali Brunello 2004 is a very fine example of an outstanding vintage - and at this price - so far below its peers - it is not to be missed! The aroma is so very pure, fresh and inviting. In the mouth, the wine offers beautiful fruit qualities enhanced by aging in large Slovenian casks. The wine is very expressive and very long even at this early stage, with very fine-grained tannins in a superbly elegant finale. You can put this Brunello away in your cellar if you want, but it is absolutely delicious right now! »
