Planted on steep slopes opposite the Pyrenees at an altitude of 300 m, the Jurançon vineyards cover some 1,000 hectares, spread across more than 40 km². The Jurançon received the AOC Appellation in 1936.
The grape varieties are Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, Courbu Blanc, Petit Courbu, Camaralet de Lasseube, and Lauzet. The grapes are picked between mid-October and mid-December. Different techniques are used to make dry and sweet wines.
