Rich, dense and profound, Pauillac wines are elegant and distinguished, and offer a very delicate bouquet. Their tannins are tight but not hard. Pauillac wines have aromas of black cherry, liquorice, crème de cassis, as well as sour cherry, rose and iris, cedar, smoke and incense. Thanks to their robust tannins, these wines have a great ageing potential.
Pauillac wines are blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, which accounts for 65% of planted surfaces in this area, Merlot, as well as much smaller quantities of Petit Verdot or Malbec.
