The area covered by the Bourgueil AOC stretches over 7 communes on the right bank of the Loire. Its gentle slopes and patchwork landscape create a mosaic effect lit up by its white limestone buildings.
The wines are made from Cabernet Franc (virtually unique), Cabernet Sauvignon tolerated to a maximum of 10% of planting.
The Bourgueil wines have a strong and radiant purple robe. Intense nose of small red fruits (morello cherries, strawberries) for wines grown on gravel soils; ripe raspberries, liquorice and spices for limestone wines, evolving into notes of a more animal and toasted character (leather, fur...). Supple and approachable on the palate in some cases; fleshy with a chewy consistency in others, which soften over time. Fresh and balanced finish.
