Robert Parker : « Wine Advocate #188, April 2010 Not to be confused with St.-Emilion’s Bellevue, this has been one of the most consistent Medoc cru bourgeois over a number of years, and the 2009 may reach new quality heights. A big-time sleeper of the vintage, this blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 20% Petit Verdot boasts a dense purple color as well as notes of creme de cassis and spring flowers, terrific fruit, sweet but noticeable tannin, and medium to full body. It can be drunk young or cellared for 8-10 years. (Tasted once.) »

Robert Parker : « Wine Advocate #188, April 2010 A great bargain in any vintage, in 2009 this may be the best wine they have ever produced. It is a terrific sleeper of the vintage. Already seductive and lush, it displays oodles of subtle barbecue smoke interspersed with black cherry and black currant fruit as well as silky tannins. Dark ruby/purple in a larger-scaled, lusher style than usual, this is a beauty. Drink it over the next 6-8 years. (Tasted two times.) »

Château Beau-Séjour Bécot 2008

Robert Parker : « Apr 2009"This red/purple-colored offering reveals a sweet toasty oak character, wonderful ripeness, full-bodied opulence, superb purity, a layered mouthfeel, high but ripe tannin, and an underlying minerality and crispness from the vintage’s acid profile. This wine appears to just be coming off of malolactic fermentation, and it will benefit from several years of bottle age. It should keep for two decades or more. The natural alcohol came in at 14%.Proprietor Gerard Becot’s 40-acre vineyard, planted in pure limestone, is relatively large for St.-Emilion. The final blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon represents a sweet, rich, concentrated 2008 that competes favorably with the 2005." »

Jancis Robinson : « "This comes in a naughty, heavy, unecological bottle but the contents should appeal to those who appreciate sweet fruit and oaky spice. Not subtle or elegant but all that fruit is balanced by attractive freshness. Drink 2011-15" »
