Located near the port of Beychevelle, the Saint-Julien terroir is well known for the quality of its soil and its excellent drainage.
Remarkable for their dense garnet-ruby robe, Saint-Julien wines have powerful, yet finely woven and velvety tannins. Their dense, ample, and opulent flavour is supported by an intense, complex aromatic register with notes of blueberry and blackcurrant, blackberry, prune, tobacco, liquorice, not to mention tertiary aromas of leather, fur, venison or truffle.
These wines are comprised mostly of Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Merlot and, to a lesser extent, Cabernet Franc.
Saint-Julien wines combine power and concentration with a feminine elegance.
