The Premières Côtes de Bordeaux are quality sweet wines. This quality is partly due to the strict production norms applied to this AOC since 1937.
The Premières Côtes de Bordeaux mainly produces fruity red wines, but sweet white wines dominate in the hotter southern part of the Appellation. They have a fruity and floral bouquet with notes of citrus and candied fruit, quince, peach and yellow flowers.
In the mouth, they perfectly balance acidity with corpulence. At high levels of residual sugars akin to those of the great dessert wines, they have notes of sun-roasted fruit like the Sauternes.
