When the Garonne and Ciron rivers meet, this hillside AOC has all the elements required by noble rot. Loupiac is a fine golden wine produced across the river from Sauternes.
The grape varieties best suited to the over-concentration of sugars are Sauvignon, and most particularly Sémillon, which represents over 80% of the vines planted.
Loupiac wines are yellow with hints of gold, and their elegant nose includes candied fruit, exotic fruit, figs and honey. Hints of gingerbread, yellow flowers, acacia, currant and prune add to its complex and powerful nose.
In the mouth, Loupiac wines are rich, ample and viscous with an elegant structure balanced by good acidity. The finish is extremely long, like all of the region's fine dessert wines.
