Alsace Muscat is distinguished from the sweet Muscats of the South of France by its dry character. Extremely aromatic, it expresses wonderful flavours of fresh fruit.
Two varieties of Muscat are cultivated in Alsace. Muscat “à petits grains" or “Muscat d’Alsace”. The wine is clear yellow in colour with light silvery glints. The olfactory intensity is distinctively grapey. This fruit intensity is sometimes accompanied by subtle floral notes. Vinified dry, it feels exactly like biting into a grape. The freshness and hint of refined bitterness contribute to the spontaneity and harmony of the wine.
