Wine.com : « Red Wine by Innocent Bystander from South Australia, Australia. Not your blockbuster warm-climate Aussie Shiraz, this is a more elegant example reminiscent of violets, pink peppercorns, nutmeg and caramelized quince and mulberries. The palate is likewise restrained, offering fruit compote with slightly meaty undertones. »

Vinexus - Infinity of Wine Duitsland : « One of the noble varieties, Shiraz originated in the Rhône Valley where it is known as Syrah. In Australia, Shiraz has become the most planted red grape variety and produces long grape bunches with small to medium sized oval berries. Shiraz is a renowned Mitchelton specialty. The fruit is sourced from a collective of mature vineyards in Central Victoria, with a large percentage grown in the Mitchelton Estate vineyards. All these vineyards are carefully monitored to ensure low yields (approx 10 t/ha) for full flavoured ripeness and pronounced varietal expression. V I N E Y A R D: Severe spring frosts were experienced throughout Central Victoria in September of 2006 with widespread damage to emerging shoots on the Mitchelton estate and other key source vineyards. Long, hot, summer conditions saw Shiraz ripen two to three weeks earlier than normal. Low crops resulted in intense varietal flavour expression and vivid colour development. Colour: blood plum with a bright red rim. Aroma: lifted redcurrants and blackberry with hints of violets, mocha and spice. Palate: luscious red berry fruits with dustings of spice, framed by a mouth-coating chocolaty tannin. The finish is generous, rich and long. »
