Vines have been grown in Tumbarumba since 1982 and currently there are more than 25 vineyards in the region. Vineyards are found at altitudes of up to 800 metres.
Due to the region's colder climate, the majority of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are used for sparkling wine. However, when conditions fall correctly both gape varieties have been used to produce still wine.
