I have had the step down from this producer and in truth I think I liked it more. At a wine taste it had more approachable aspects than the old vine version and was drinking exceptionally well. This bottle was VERY tight and needs some time to open up. After about 20 minutes of being in the glass it had a different character, but still not the same as the “red label” version. Even with that it was not the best experience. I have taken another bottle and put it away to get a little older, and hopefully, tastier. This has a big nose and crushed dark fruit, a good finish filled with minerals and garrigue but one that probably needs to sit.
