About the winery

Over 25 years ago, the pioneering Norwegian Armador, (ship owner) Dan Odfjell discovered and fell in love with a small corner of the famous Maipo Valley, Chile. Born of rain in Bergen, Norway, he could not resist the attraction of the austral sun in this Virgilian setting.


Serendipity would later show that he had found land in Chile's premium red wine producing valley, where vitis vinifera has been cultivated since the 17th century. And where a soothing coastal breeze produces a microclimate conducive to distinct and beautiful wines. This was the start of our journey, the start of what we today know as Odfjell Vineyards

Sobre la bodega

Hace más de 25 años, el pionero armador noruego Dan Odfjell descubrió y se enamoró de un pequeño rincón del famoso Valle del Maipo en Chile. Nacido en las lluvias de Bergen, Noruega, él no pudo resistir la atracción del sol austral de este idílico lugar.


La suerte le mostraría mas tarde que él había encontrado esta tierra en un valle de Chile privilegiado, en el que se produce vinos tintos de calidad Premium, donde se ha cultivado vid vinífera por más de 4 siglos, donde una brisa costera produce un micro clima favorable en la producción de distintos y hermosos vinos. Este fue el comienzo de una travesía, el comienzo de lo que hoy conocemos como Odfjell Vineyards.
