| | The Moscatel wines are one of the top Portuguese fortified wines, together with Port wines and Madeira wines, but probably the most underrated, even in Portugal. That's a pitty, but the good side is that prices are not inflated.
The Moscatel Roxo variety was close to extinction recently, with as few as 10 ha of vines left.
And this is in complete contradiction with the quality of the variety as this wine shows.
Great complexity, exuberant in the nose, pretty nice balance between the sugar and the acidity, very long aftertaste, I love it!
Ideal at the end of the meal. Tasting date : 01 Apr 2009 Maturity : Mature Lists: Wine Arnaud Steve has discoverd this wine. 4 years ago |
