About the winery

Domaine Monplézy is family-run vineyard, providing high-quality wines at competitive prices and embracing sustainable, environmentally-sensitive methods. The original Domaine residence, which is still standing, was built in 1734 and for three generations the family has tended vines and harvested grapes in this picturesque, corner of rural Languedoc. Anne and Christian Gil are today’s ‘vignerons’. They use traditional labour-intensive growing and harvesting methods coupled with modern, carefully controlled wine-making processes to produce award-winning ‘Vins de Pays Côtes de Thongue’ wines from Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault, Merlot, Roussanne and Marsanne grape varieties.

The Domaine’s Mediterranean hillside microclimate and dry, flinty soils contribute to the unique ‘terroir’ that gives its wines their unmistakable characteristics. Anne and Christian’s customers appreciate the couple’s zeal and enthusiasm, their commitment to customer care and their willingness to listen and respond to customer preferences.
