Good value from St Chinian
Very pleasant wine to accompany a spicy garlic encrusted spatchcocked free-range white chicken. Don't you think you can have too much of those yellow ones which the French marketing men rave about? I have wrung a lot of chickens' necks, and plucked them too. But did I ever find a yellow one, however much I fed them maize? No! Pheasants on the other hand are always nice and yellow and their fat superb. Guinea fowl too. But I digress.
The label says this wine is supple and elegant, redolent of ripe cherries, delicate chocolate and violets ....makes me think of that minor Argentine character in one of the earlier Bond novels, we're talking 1950s here, who recommended giving a pretty girl of that description10 minutes at 120 mph and then lifting her quivering onto a mossy bank. Good honest stuff! #violets #latinas #ripecherries #spatchcockedchicken #chocolate #spice
