About the winery

The story of Bodegas Tobía first began in 1994, when pioneer, Oscar Tobía, recovered his family’s bodega, in order to create one of the most spectacular wineries in the world. After installing facilities for both bottling and shipping, Oscar thoughtfully designed a winemaking facility that opens to the breathtaking magnificence of the Sierra de la Cantabrian, sheltered from the cold northerly winds and near to the famous Ebro River. Oscar’s vision was founded not only from his passion to elaborate wines, but also his love and respect of the renowned Spanish wine region, La Rioja - his land. Alongside his wife Ana, the only financial capital available to Oscar was his creativity, innovation, spirituality and maverick nature, driving him to follow through with his dream of founding, Bodegas Tobía.

*** Good
Tobia or not Tobia
Deep red and deep taste. This was a very refreshing, fruit forward wine. The nose was berries and a little spice. The mouth was a clean cherry or berry with smooth tannins. Very good alone, but even better with a nice pork barbecue sandwich. Cannot beat this one for the price.
