This is not a wine that usually gets good ratings. The usual book on this is, “not bad for a $10-14 wine”. However, I kind of liked this year’s PN from Echelon, perhaps because they bought their juice in Corsica instead of California. I think they got a much better deal on better wine from overseas and that is why it was better. I found a fair amount of fruit, a nice nose and a clean, pleasant finish. There was a hint of minerality at the very end that made it pleasant, and a good mouth feel. I will say that it did not hold up to food as well as other, more complex, pinots, and it was a little light overall, but drunk alone or with a very mild meal it will do fine, and do it for under $15.
