This lovely wine has gotten beaten up in the reviews. Now I don’t know if I cannot detect it (and I doubt that because I am pretty sensitive to smells) but this wine is supposed to have a strong brettanomyces problem. All I tasted was fruit and smooth Grand Cru Beujolais. The fruit was darker than most, and the wine itself was a dusky red, but I enjoyed the pretty nose, clean taste, the lively acidity and the food friendly nature. Furthermore, this is the second time I have tried this wine, and I still like it better than the other Morgon I have had. If I got the only two good bottles for the year then hooray for me!
