A nod to the wise and yes I am cent pourcent accro de beaujolais!
A couple of days ago friends called for lunch; something simple veal cutlets garnished with vegetables from my potager followed by a Mirabelle tart with ice cream.Nice! However I offered Jean Paul Dubost's 2009 Beaujolais Villages as an accompaniment throughout! Classic. It is an excellent wine for a light summer lunch; lovely violet colour, fruity and light. But....don't be fooled this is a wine from one of Beaujolais' maestros. This is a wine which has a lingering savour and the richness of a superior classification. I'ts not his flagship wine (since Jean Paul's wines are served in Michelin starred restaurants with an international reputation) but it is a very worthy Beaujolais which suits those with a nose for an authentic taste of Beaujolais.
