Another in a run of great wines from the Rhône valley. This was not as subtle or as big as the Chave CDR, but it certainly could hold it’s own. The nose was dark fruit but without the underlying earthy notes. The mouth was similarly fruit forward with some mineral, but not like the layered Chave. If I had not had the Chave Mon Coeur recently I would have probably rated this much higher. Accompanied some ribs very nicely.
