What a difference a day or two makes…My first bottle of this CDR was AWFUL, obviously got corked. The problem was that the taint was not “holy cow” bad, and the wine had so much flavor that it seemed that this might just be a really funky CDR. However, good sense and that unmistakable odor made me take it back. GLAD I did, the new bottle was one of the better CDR’s I think I have had. The nose is meat and fruit and tobacco. You find yourself wanting to sniff more than quaff, it is that intoxicating. The mouth is no slouch either, layers of dark fruit and bright berries mix with mineral and floral tastes. The finish is long and clean, the acidity just right. M. Brunel will be invited back to dinner again.
