A chip off the old Fireblock
WOW, I was completely taken by surprise. My wife saw this at a local wine store and liked how it sounded. We opened it up at home and were delighted. Huge nose of dark fruit and tobacco, palate so full of tangy cherry and raspberry with just enough tannins to keep it honest. The fruit really comes on mid-palate, and the finish linger a long time. At 15% alcohol, definitely a “stay at home” wine. I plan to make a special trip back to the store to get a few bottles. Great with a turkey breast and also with a salad topped with some roast pork chunks.
