About the winery

Steeped in history, Nobilo wines are proudly acclaimed as some of New Zealand's most respected pioneering wine brands. The history of the company in New Zealand goes back to the early 1940's when Nikola Nobilo, whose family's winemaking history streches back over 300 years in Europe, settled in Huapai, West Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand and planted vines in 1943. The Nobilo family effectively persuaded and guided the New Zealand wine industry away from hybrid grape varieties and fortified wines, to a higher level of quality wine, now recognised and appraised by all markets.

Summer special
Clear, almost light green this extremely flavorful and easy to drink wine is a perennial favorite in our house. I believe I actually like this “step down” from the Nobilo Icon better. It has a melon or citrus nose and a distinctly pink grapefruit and peach taste. The mouth is clean and soft, the taste lingers for a while, and the acidity cleans the palate. With some spicy Asian food it is the perfect wine, but then I think it is prefect for a lot of lighter fare
