About the winery

Although at the outset the company was one man's brainchild, it is in fact a collective endeavour. Vignobles André Lurton is run by a young, dynamic team of highly-skilled managers. Each and every one is attentive, rational, discreet and modest (a sterling quality in an ego-driven environment!). Understandably, André Lurton favours them with his total confidence.

Consumer Reviews - Château de Cruzeau - Blanc 2007

Lurton  Vinostarter - from 1 to 20 reviews    Leognan  (France)
**** Very good
Producer tasting note
Robe : Pale yellow with green and silver highlights.
Noze : Oaky, remarkably intense nose, smoky, toasty notes, which nonetheless do not overshadow the complex floral and fruit character of blackcurrant bud and lemon.
The palate, markedly fresh upfront, is remarkable as it develops elegance, body and suppleness. Long, with lemon and citronella notes. Textbook Sauvignon. Drink within five years with white meats (char-roast chicken, roast pork) or fish (fillet of rockfish in olive oil, sea bass with green tomatoes, swordfish lemon skewers) as well as cheeses.
Tasting date : 01 Jan 2009
Maturity : Keep in cellar (mature 2009  from  2014)

**** Very good
Producer tasting note
Robe : Pale yellow, brilliant, gold highlights
Noze : Characteristic floral Pessac-Léognan nose, dominant citrus and tropical fruit notes of passion-fruit and lychee, as well as ripe apricots.
The palate is subtle and gracefully lively and fruity, with notes of melon, apricot and peach. Hints of toasty, melting oak. Smoky. Drink within five years, with Spanish lobster served with a fennel risotto, stuffed mussels, salmon scallopine, devilled mackerel, or just on its own…

Lots of clean fruit and oak. Classy, less oak fruit and definite vineyard-influenced wine, ripe and very good acidity. Up to 5 years.
