Deep dark red wine that I have to admit I almost didn’t buy because of the name. I just never trust cutsey names on French wines (having been burnt with Fat Bastard and Menage a Trois). However, this got very good ratings and the price was right. Let me just say this, this was indeed a bad boy so I made it sit (opened) in a corner overnight and improved it’s disposition. On first opening it was very dark and smoky, almost too much. It had a sweetish mid palates and seemed heavy. The finish was long enough but there was something extra, and not to my liking, there. Some 24 hours later everything was now right with the world. Lots of crushed, but not overwhelming blackberries and toasty oak. It was good, but truly not my favorite Bordeaux.
