| One of the largest wineries in Portugal, and definitely the largest one in the Terras de Sado region, it's twofold: on one hand producing blockbuster wines like the Perquita brand (the oldest in Portugal), and on the other hand being the keepers of the history of the Moscatel de Setúbal, this wonderful and underrated fortified wine | |

| A mix between trincadeira, aragonez and grand noir. Good wine for its price | |

Domingos Soares Franco - Colecção Privada - Malbec/Clarete - 2008

| Some nice red fresh fruit in the nose, body with good acidity, more structure than a rosé, dry and medium aftertaste, it's half-way between a rosé and a red wine. But pretty well designed, I like it pretty much! Served chilled it's ideal for a barbecue during the summer. | |

Domingos Soares Franco - Colecção Privada - Moscatel Roxo - 2008
|
|
This rosé is fantastic! |
|
| This rosé has an incredible bouquet, extremely exuberant, with lots of flowers. The body is dry and with good freshness. It is a perfect match with Sushi or aromatic but not too spicy Oriental food. The wine is made of the almost disappeared Moscatel Roxo (Red Muscat) grape (11 ha left?), traditionally used for the fortified (but equally great or even greater!) Moscatel Roxo version. |

Domingos Soares Franco - Colecção Privada - Verdelho - 2008

| Good tropical fruit in the nose, pretty concentrated body but with good freshness. Pretty good, but I liked better the style of the more exuberant and acid 2007 version. In comparison with the 2007 version that was more tailored for seafood or grilled fish, this 2008 would probably fit pretty well with monkfish with Mousseline sauce. |

Alambre - Moscatel de Setubal - 20 Años

| Amazing complexity, honey, dried fruits, almonds, orange, pretty sweet but with some freshness, very large body, very long aftertaste, a good example of the wonderful (but underestimated) Moscatel de Setubal. Ideal as a dessert wine | |
