Amazing wine, tasty food

What a great little undiscovered find! Kyneton Ridge is a quiet little place with amazing views. It's got a great set up for a small family run winery.
The Pinot is exceptional value for money. The 2001 has a more heafty price tag of $47 but would be well worth it for the discernting wine taster.
We came past on a Sunday and didn't even realise they do food. The menu is a little basic, but the food is really tasty and is great value.
The log fire was on and there are newspapers and comfy couches so we realy enjoyed the afternoon. It's surprising this place isn't more busy considering all the things going for it: great food, really friendly staff, meeting the wine maker, amazing views and top notch pinot noir to boot! Discover this place now before every oelse does!

Kyneton Ridge Estate is a boutique producer of premium Pinot Noir. All grapes are Estate grown and produced by winemaker John Boucher. Kyneton Ridge Estate pinot noir is ranked in the top 11 producers nationally (Winewise Small Vigneron awards, 2005). This is simply outstanding Pinot Noir.

We have 4 pinot noir releases and 3 chardonnay releases. Check out for our newly released 2005 shiraz and 2004 sparkling Macedon.

I really liked this one! I also enjoyed heading up to Kyneton Ridge and got a chance to meet the wine maker! If you're normally not a big red drinker, this will appeal with it's light overall approach. I served it after chilling in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Derrick Dennis   reviewed Kyneton Ridge Pinot Noir - 2004

It’s a single-minded wine in that classic cherry spectrum with balanced acid and very soft tannins. Its also blessed with only 12% Alcohol. So none of those burns just fruit. Medium Finish. John recommends decanting to lift both the earth nose and fruit favours. John Boucher Winemaker suggests 'buying half to drink now and half to put down over the next 3 to 5 years as he believes it will open up into a very elegant wine.

Elegant and smooth wine, vibrant cherry flavours with a long palate. Will certainly develop further in the bottle with careful cellaring. Rated by James Halliday as a 4 1/2 star wine
