Presentation of the winery
The vineyard, the tradition of father and son.
Our family has owned vines in Julienas for more than a century, each generation increasing the area under cultivation.
At present the property consists of several small estates totalling 9 hectares all under the direct responsibility of my parents and myself, Benoit.
Planted exclusively with Gamay, our vineyards face south/ south-east on the granite hillside of Mont Bessay, one of the best locations in Julienas.
The grapes are harvested entirely manually.
The vinification employs traditional Beaujolais techniques using the whole grape and lasts for 8-10 days.
Our wines are left to mature until the following spring. It is our custom that the wine is only bottled after Easter.
The starting point is the roundabout opposite the restaurants” Chez la Rose” and “Le Coq au Vin “ in the centre of Julienas. From here follow the direction Pruzilly.
At the war memorial take the right fork direction “La Ville” and “GAEC AUJAS” .
The Domaine du Capou is situated 150 m on the left after the sign “ La Ville”
