The soil is made of rocks, pebble stones and clay.

"Aged 1/3 in oak barrel, 1/3 in foudre, 1/3 in tank.
A solid core of blackberry and plum fruit is supported by notes of iron, tobacco and tar, with nice grip on the finish. Should open up nicely with short-term cellaring. Drink now through 2011." —J.M., Wine Spectator (July 2007), 90 pts
