**** Very good
A very versatile Valpolicella
Spicy and sharp red fruit on the nose. Very well balanced wine, nice acidity, integrated tanins and medium body, tastes big time of sour cherries and red berries, hints of cedar and red peppercorn and some nice bitter chocolate in the finish. A great food wine - would pair well with many a pasta dish or some red meat.

*** Good
Interesting Langhe
Lots of black fruit in the nose, fruit carries across well on the palate - there is plenty of almost stewed plum, blackberry and some black cherry in the middle palate, a little kitchen herbs in the longish finish. Good tanins and acid which will soften in the next 2-3 years I think

** Satisfying
not my favourite Barollo
This particular Barollo is a little too acidic and alcoholic for my liking... To my palate the balance is a little off key...Some of the acid will mellow with aging but not too sure this will fix the balance... Not sure there is enough fruit to stand the test of time...

**** Very good
Another baby - but this time a v beautiful one;-)
Lots of red fruit and a little forest floor on the nose. A powerful wine, with plenty of tanin, acid and body, lots of cherries and red berries in the middle palate, a little aniseed in the long finish. I guess one could drink this wine right now - however why would one want to throw out the baby w the bath water - especially if the baby has so much potential to turn into a superstar when a little older:-)

* Weak
Room for improvement...
Unbalanced - way to Even though there is plenty of fruit the only real sensation I get from this wine is a burning one...

Another baby...
Very dry, lots of acid, tanins and alcohol.Wine is well balanced w flavours of black currant and other black and some kitchen herbs (thyme, rosemary) in the finish. Finish is v dry due to the high tanins. Needs at least another 4-5 years in the bottle before the wine will show it's true beauty. Shows potential though:-)

Still a baby which will need quite a few more years in the bottle...
Way too young - all one really gets right now is tons of acid, quite astringent tanins and eucalyptus and cedar tones overwhelming the red fruit flavours... However the wine is well balanced and has all the ingedients to age beautifully - best we revisit in 4-5 years:-)

**** Very good
very well balanced and yummie wine :-)
Tons of acid, tanin, and bodied in a really balanced way, flavours of ripe strawberry and raspberry, some sweet liquorice and cedar in the lingering finish... Wine can be drunk now (better with some aeration - so would suggest decanting it) but think the true silkiness will only come out w a few more years of cellaring:-)

way too barnyardy...
hmmm what to say... except that this wine has been heavily affected bybrettanomyces... The nose reminds me of a dirty pig sty, and on the palate I unfortunately have the same sensation... The wine is furthermore not balanced so the other overwhelming impression on the palate is a burning acid sensation.

*** Good
Big and bold and a bit New Worldish
Bold dry red wine with a good tanin structure, good acidity good weight and lots of jammy fruit and hint of sweet liquorice. A little bit to harsh in the finish for my liking - but think this will soften with aging. This wine is a bit reminiscent of fruit forward big Australian or American reds...
