The year 2006 has been very hot in the Douro valley.
The wine shows it being very much on the fruit, round, with good volume. Still it manages to get a good balance and a very smooth aftertaste with ripe tanins. A very good wine that will please most people. Try it with canneloni.

Some evolution on the nose, complexity, typical brioche, a very nice Champagne that will fit better with a meal than for celebration or appetizer

A big fruit salad in the nose, it really jumps out of the glass!
Lots of volume in the mouth, very smooth and with a pretty sweet aftertaste - fortunately without excess of alcohol. Some freshness gives the wine balance and allows it not to be tiring after one glass.
If you have a friend who doesn't like red wine and prefers soda, just have him taste this wine!
The sweetness of the wine pairs perfecty with a spicy Chili con carne.

Modern Rioja, full of red fruit, round and smooth, balanced, and with a hint of complexity and character. Very enjoyable! Try with a mushrooms risotto!

Un vin relativement bon marché pour une appellation de prestige, une année moyenne, une promo au Delhaize, bref je me préparais au pire.
Au final le vin est pas mal, assez élégant, agréable au nez, des tanins encore un peu durs mais qui s'adoucissent en accompagnant un bon rôti de porc à la moutarde à l'ancienne.
Bon, ça reste pas un peu cher pour le plaisir obtenu, mais au vu de mes attentes plutôt limitées je n'ai pas été déçu.

Assez aromatique, fin et frais, très sec sur la finale. Un chouette vin pour la table, que je verrais bien avec des pâtes aux scampis et à l'ail.

Interesting wine from the Alentejo, with notes of menthol and fresh red fruit (cherry?), pretty fresh in the mouth, round and very agreable, escaping a little bit from the typical Alentejo wine.

In the same style as the 2007 version even though less sweet in the aftertaste. Good tropical fruit, good body, good freshness, good balance. Good wine, but to me it misses a bit of character...

Un peu déçu lá. Un vin très timide, plutôt fin et long en bouche mais un peu maigre, loin d'être désagréable ou sans intérêt mais pas très excitant non plus. Un bon vin mais sans plus, à accompagner avec des plats pas trop forts, genre un poulet à l'estragon.

Plein de fruits rouges, une petite touche de fût de chêne, plutôt plein et puissant mais sans être agressif ou alcooleux, long en bouche. Un bon vin pour accompagner un steak au poivre!

Less on the honey notes than the 1997 and more on the orange peel, less sugar and more freshness, great balance, very long aftertaste, this is a Moscatel you don't want to miss!

Tasted again, the wine seems to be at its top (at least to my liking). Complex bouqet, with still great fruit but now mixed with some notes of evolution.Body with very good strucure and freshness, very attractive, I liked it very much!

Good complexity, with fresh red fruits, mature dark fruits, slight touch of oak, long balanced body with tanins still leaving a little dry touch at the end.Still growing. A secure choice.

Nose with evolution, with quite some 'horse sweat', body still with good structure and freshness. For those who like riding horses, this is your wine!
